I hope that you have found the book useful— or at least interesting—and have learned something new from it (I myself did learn a lot while I was writing it). Most of the covered information is likely to remain up-to-date for quite a long time, but some details will inevitably change very fast. I believe that the biggest value of this book is not a set of particular facts but rather the approach to exploring the system that I show. Neither this book nor the documentation should be taken for granted. Contemplate, experiment, verify all the facts yourself: PostgreSQL provides all the tools that you need for it, and I tried to show how to use them. It is usually almost as easy as asking a question on a forum or googling the answer, but is definitely much more reliable and useful. For the same reason, I wanted to encourage you to look into the code. Do not get intimidated by its complexity: simply try it out. Open source is a great advantage, so take this opportunity.
